Rockin’ Out with Hip Huggers Cloth Diapers

It’s no secret that I love cloth diapering. Aside from the amount of money we save and how much better it is for the environment, I really love how adorable they are!  I recently was introduced to Hip Huggers Cloth Diapers and love how they are adorable diapers ~ with an edge!

Hip Huggers are not your average cloth diapers! Like I said, they are adorable diapers with an edge! Each diaper has a unique design hand-painted on the bum. I was sent a special pair of diapers for Charlie and Zoe from the Rockin’ Baby collection, one regular and one supreme. I absolutely love the designs on the bums of their diapers!

And while I love diapers that I can use for either Charlie or Zoe, I love that they have their own specific diapers too (they’ve been sharing since day one so it’s nice for them to have something of their own).

The pink Hip Hugger diaper was the regular diaper that I received. You can see that it is an one-size diaper so it will continue to grow with Zoe until she no longer needs diapers (yay!).

It also has snap enclosures which is great because the twins have been starting to be able to get out of their velcro ones. I also really like how it has an extra snap on each side to help secure the diaper and avoid wing droop.

The fabric inside the diaper is incredibly soft; this is what will touch baby’s bum. I love how soft it feels….wish my clothes were this soft!

The regular diaper has an opening (pocket) to place one or more inserts into. The opening is not overly large, which is nice because then you don’t have to worry about the insert coming out, but it does mean that it takes a little more effort to get the insert into the diaper. And when I say a little more, I mean hardly any more effort!

The insert itself is also incredibly soft, even though it never actually touches baby’s bum.

The regular Hip Hugger Diaper looks absolutely adorable on Zoe (approx. 16 lbs). Her tushie looks so soft and fluffy!

And you can see how nicely it fits against her little legs.

After wearing her regular Hip Hugger cloth diaper, Zoe did not have any leaks (and she even let her big sister Keeley wear it during nap time without any leaks, and that’s saying something!), no red marks on the legs, and no sore bum! Definitely a great diaper!

Now Charlie was sent a Supreme Hip Huggers cloth diaper to try out.

Like the regular, the supreme diaper is a one-size diaper that will fit Charlie until he is done potty-training.  It also has two rows of waist snaps for a better fit and even less chance of wing droop.  I also really love the colors of the snaps!

Inside, the fabric is as soft as the regular diaper,

but with a few upgrades: the supreme diaper has double leg gusseting to help keep big messes inside the diaper

two pocket openings so there is no need to remove the insert before washing. The openings are very large so it is easy to get insert into the diaper as well it working its way out during wash.

Because the openings are so large they have a snap on the insert so you can snap it into the diaper, therefore eliminating any worry about it not staying in the diaper while on baby.

I love the fit of the Hip Huggers Supreme diaper on Charlie (aprox. 21 lbs).

He is the bigger culprit when it comes to being able to finagle his way out of his diaper, and his Hip Hugger Supreme diaper was not going anywhere! And it was also incredibly gentle against Charlie’s not-so-little legs!

And Charlie’s bum looks just as adorable and fluffy!

Charlie approves of his new Rockin’ diaper, he even started sporting a couple spikes in his hair!

The Hip Hugger Supreme diaper worked just as great as I expected with no leaks, no red marks and no rashes! I love how incredibly soft they are next to Charlie and Zoe (and Keeley’s) bums. All of my kids are heavy wetters, so the fact that both diapers stood up to their pee test earns huge bonus points in my book. And to top off all the great stats that Charlie and Zoe’s Hip Hugger cloth diapers, they have some really cool looking diapers. The designs painted on their bums are great and definitely makes their diapers seem  custom made!

  2. I really like the designs on those diapers. I’ve never seen black stenciling (as the poster above me called it) on a diaper before.

  3. These are adorable. I had never even heard of these before. I love the green one with all of the multi-colored buttons!

  4. these look like a nice pocket diaper… i like the snaps on the supreme better and the designs on the booty are cute :)

  5. My cousin loves this brand and is always raving about them as one of her go to diapes. We are due middle of January and can’t wait to give them a try!

  6. I’ve never used a pocket diaper before, but these are cute. I’m tempted since they are less expensive than many covers. Big plus.

  7. I love the double gusset and the double snaps. I have wing droop with quite a few of my pockets and it’s a little bit aggravating. The design on the back is a lot of fun.

  8. I love the Supreme diaper! Any diaper with double gussets gets my vote! My son has little chicken legs so having that extra “support” is great.

  9. The supreme diaper looks like it would be the best for my son. His chunky legs and his ability to blow out a diaper would benefit from them.

  10. Even though these are just rebranded Alvas, they have a good price point if you want to avoid long shipping times from China and the stenciling is adorable. How is that holding up to washing?

  11. I have never used a pocket diaper before, but these look worth a try. I love the extra snaps especially. I’ve found my favorite covers have snaps a lot like these.

  12. Double gussets and snap-in inserts! Some of my favorite cloth diaper features and you can’t beat the cute prints! I’m glad to hear that they stood up to the heavy wetters. DS has recently started becoming such a heavy wetter that I have been getting discouraged.

  13. I really love how these aren’t super bulky like some diapers can be. I also don’t have any diapers that have colored snaps and that would really help out for diaper changes done by family.

  14. I really like the snaps! I use to have velcro, and it started catching on all the other diapers, so I had to sell them. Now we are a snap only family :)

  15. Thanks for the review. I really like that the diaper withstood the heavy wetter test AND doesn’t leave red marks on legs!
