I had the perfect chair that was in desperate need of a makeover! We had a light blue glider chair from when Landon was a baby; it has seen better days and has been faded from the sun.

Since the chair was so light I had my choice of colors, and decided to go with Charcoal Grey.

The cans have a safety on the top, which I love because it was a few days before I was able to get working on the chair and even though I had it out of the kids’ reach, you’d be surprised at what they can get into!

I brought the chair out to the garage to get started. I originally was going to do it outside, but it just wasn’t happening with the wind.

It is always a good idea to test a small area to make sure it will absorb with water first and make sure your material is dry, not oily  and clean before painting. I also would suggest starting off the fabric to get even coverage. And please note the floor in the picture…I highly recommend putting down some newspaper or some type of floor covering before you get started. Luckily, I was in the garage.

My chair ended up needing 4 cans of Simply Spray Upholstery Fabric Paint, either in part because of its size or because my chair had extremely absorbent material. But I am very happy with the results.  Please note that my chair looks a million times better in person than it does in this photo.

After applying you will see that  the paint absorbs in and does not change the feel or stiffen fabrics. It is permanent, fast drying and will not rub off once dry I would suggest 72 hours, as their site does.
