We love books in our house! In our “media” room the kids custom-made bookcase is full of great children’s books, but all of them are written from (very talented and creative) adults.  I recently was introduced to a great children’s book collection that was written by a child (or teen-sorry Paris, I know how important the difference is)! How awesome is that?

Paris Morris  is your average 14-year old girl who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has inspired seven books currently in print and is working on several additional titles involving her twin sisters as well as children’s travel to New York, France, Italy and Hawaii. I love that the My Friend Paris books are from the point of view of a creative youth.

I was sent two books from the My Friend Paris collection to review: Paris Goes To Lake Tahoe and My Twins’ First Christmas.

I had visited Lake Tahoe when I was a teenager, and really enjoyed the adventures of Paris. I love the colorful illustrations as they only enhance the story!

Keeley said her favorite was the “one about my babies”.  This will be “her” twins’ first Christmas too!  I love that Paris has an entire selection of books about having twin siblings! I know lots of MoMs (mothers of multiples) who would appreciate the focus on how it is for a singleton to have multiples as siblings.

The My Friend Paris collection is perfect for any little girl (or boy). The stories are well-written, easy to follow, and have beautiful illustrations. It is refreshing to have children’s books not written from an adult “trying to think what would appeal to kids”.
