Do you see great looking collages on other people’s facebook pages, websites, blogs, or even on their wall and wonder how they get such great looking collages? I always thought that people were either extremely talented with photos or they had really expensive software.  And those may very well be true, but luckily for the rest of us there is CollageIt FREE.

CollageIt Free is photo collage software that you can download for FREE! Woo hoo, now the rest of us can have fabulous looking collages as well! Simply head over to the CollageIt Free website and download the free software.

Once you have CollageIt Free installed, it is time to start creating some masterpieces. First you choose which collage template you want to use:

Then simply upload your photos. You can easily switch collage templates with one click. I particularly like the shuffle button so you can see how your photos look in different positions. Then save to your computer and share!

I do wish that there was a “make your own” template, but perhaps that is in the upgraded version. There is a way to get around it though, I found that if I clicked “use all photos” it will only use the photos you have selected, and then by changing the space and margins I was able to get the desired look. Also, it is really easy to swap photos; say you think photo 3 and photo 12 should switch places, simply drag one photo to the new spot and they switch instantly. So even with pre-made templates, you have the ability to make your own custom photo collages.

What I love: I love that it is so easy to use. I mean my parents could do it (sorry Dad, but it’s true). I love that there are different template styles to choose from. It’s great that you can “customize” your collage by swapping photos, changing the background,  margins, and spaces.

What I would change: Not much, CollageIt Free does what I would expect a free software to do. I personally would love to be able to use text in my collages. I also would like to be able to shift photos within their photo box; sometimes I really like the layout of my collage, but one photo would be cutting off someone’s head or a vital part of a photo. Now, yes I could swap the photo with another, but sometimes I just wanted to adjust the photo. These may be options with the upgraded version, CollageIt Pro.

Overall: CollageIt Free is a great photo collage software that is easy for anyone to use and make professional looking collages. And it’s FREE!! Can’t beat that! So, if you are wanting to make some great looking collages I would definitely recommend CollageIt Free!
