A few years ago I hosted Thanksgiving at our house, but didn’t want to do the standard Thanksgiving Turkey, so I made cornish game hens instead. With Thanksgiving coming up next month I figured you guys might be looking for some non-traditional Thanksgiving meal ideas, whether it’s the main course, delicious sides, or yummy desserts!

I really enjoyed this list of non-traditional dishes. It looks like I’ll be hosting Thanksgiving this year, and frankly the traditional Thanksgiving cuisine kinda bores me. I might have to try some of these recipes instead!
I grew up in a house that did Thanksgiving in a non-traditional way. Since we lived many states away from the rest of my parent’s families, my mom cooked seafood. We had shrimp, scallops, crab legs, ocean fish, lobster, or anything that caught her eye at the fish market or was on sale. To this day, I would rather have seafood than a turkey.
