I love having four kids, but sometimes it is not always easy keeping them entertained. Sure, when we are at home we have plenty of games and toys at home, but when we venture out to a restaurant or even heading up north to visit family (about 2.5 hours away) it’s hit or miss if the kids will behave like angels, or drive mommy and daddy crazy like little devils! I was recently introduced to Kleen Slate hand-held white boards and they are the perfect solution.
KleenSlate features the one-and-only, hand-held Response Paddle– a low-tech, educational tool designed to enhance communication and engage students. Created by former teacher Julia Rhodes, the Response Paddle was originally invented to improve the classroom, however it soon proved to be much more than just a teaching tool. You can find their hand-held whiteboards and markers in a variety of contexts all over the world– in homes, offices, hospitals, and care facilities. They are handy for people traveling or on-the-go, and they make communication easy in difficult situations.
I was sent a great Kleen Slate package to review that included: 2 hand-held white boards, microfiber cleaning cloth, extra markers, and extra replacement sheets for the paddles.
I think Landon just about jumped out of his shoes when he saw me open the box with our Kleen Slate goodies inside! Before I let him get busy I wanted to see them first!
I love that each marker has its own eraser on the cap; that way you always have one handy. I think it’s great that Kleen Slate has a great variety of colors too so our little artists can really create some masterpieces!
And the paddles have snap in markers in the handles, which is ingenious! We won’t be losing any markers in the car or at any restaurants.
Each Kleen Slate hand-held white board has a plain white side and on the other side one has lines for practicing letters and the other has a grid.
After I thoroughly inspected (and played a little) with the Kleen Slate hand-held paddles I let my anxious kids have their turn!
Keeley and Landon had a blast creating different masterpieces
And Landon loved practicing his letters on the lined side.
Our Kleen Slate hand-held white boards are awesome! They kept the kids busy (and not fighting!) while TJ and I were able to play with the babies and get some things done around the house. I’m going to keep them in the diaper bag so we have them ready whenever we leave the house. They will make restaurants that do not have crayons and paper for the kids so much more enjoyable, and our long road trips up north will no longer be filled with bickering kids!
BUY THEM: You can purchase your own set of Kleen Slate hand-held white boards through Kleen Slate’s website. And be sure to follow them on facebook and twitter for the latest information and deals!
WIN THEM: Kleen Slate is giving away two sets of hand-held white boards in Mommy and 4 Peas in a Pod’s Travelin With Baby giveaway (starts October 10th).
Mommy and 4 Peas in a Pod Disclosure: I received items from Kleen Slate in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100% mine and were not influenced in any way; they may differ from yours. I did NOT receive any monetary compensation for this post.

My kids have these too, and I’ll be reviewing them, soon! They LOVE them. I wish I had thought to take pictures before my kids got their hands on them, but upon opening them, they disappeared lol! I sometimes get to play with them, but not often! lol

I love them! I love the handles, and the two-sided work space. I love the storage space for the marker. What’s not to love? I need them for my son and they would be awesome in the primary classrooms at his school. Great post and great product!
