We recently been introduced to a fun new game that combines the fun of ping pong, the skill of basketball and the commoradity of great tailgating games – BasketPong!
BasketPong by XTreme Pong Sports has taken Beer Pong and tailgating to a whole new level! But as a mom, what I think is great about BasketPong is that it doesn’t have to be a drinking game; it really can be fun for the whole family! The basic object is to sink a ping pong ball into each cup, or you could check out their official rules and game options. The game is completely portable so it is ideal for parties and tailgating.
There are several different options for playing BasketPong: you can play a full-court game:
or opt for the half-court game
Or if you are really tight for space you can choose to get the door-hanging unit (I could see this being a hit in dorm rooms!)
We were sent the half-court BasketPong game to try out and review; TJ was home when the package arrived and we just had to set it up right away in the art room! The first thing we noticed when we got the game out of the box was that the game itself was its own traveling case. I love this because it helps us keep everything together and it will be easy to take it with us. We have the annual chili shoot out next weekend and I know that it will be a huge hit!
And not only is the game it’s own carrying case, I love that everything has a place:
With the half-court BasketPong we got 3 poles, cup holders, balls and instructions:
Our BasketPong game was incredibly easy to put together – another plus for when taking the game on the road! And you can see that the base is the back side of the container! I love how they make everything so convenient!
We had some plastic cups left over from a party and they were a perfect fit! Landon was at school, Keeley and the twins were napping so TJ and I decided to have some fun! It took a bit to get used to the best method for throwing the ping pong balls; the “granny shot” is my specialty and I have to admit that I have a pretty sweet bank shot!
The next time we went to the store we grabbed some clear plastic cups so we could see better what cups the balls went into:
When Landon got home from school the first thing I heard was, “WHAT IS THAT?!?!”. So naturally we spent the rest of the afternoon playing BasketPong! I love that while it most likely is intended to be a drinking game, it is easily moderated to be a family-friendly game – just take out the drinking part of it. And trust me, it is not any less fun!!
BUY IT: You can purchase BasketPong through their website. And follow BasketPong on facebook, twitter, pinterest and youtube for the latest updates, ideas, and videos!
